The rules in Málaga
To rent a property to tourists in Málaga you need to comply with Andalusia's rules on tourist homes and register it in the Andalusian Tourism Register. On top of that, since August 2025 the city council has suspended new holiday lets across the whole municipality while it amends the town plan (those already registered keep operating), and since April 2025 a new holiday let needs the express approval of the owners' association.

Can I register a new holiday let in Málaga now?
According to the latest council announcements, new registrations have been suspended across the whole municipality since August 2025 while the town plan is amended. We explain it in our regulations guide; if your property is already registered, we can manage it.
How long does it take to get a property ready?
It depends on the paperwork and the preparation it needs. We'll tell you after the visit.
Do I need to live in Málaga?
No. Many owners live elsewhere; we're in the city and report to you every month.
