Cuarteles and Victoria Duplex
Apartments for families and groups in Málaga
Travelling with family or friends is much easier when everyone has their own space and there's a kitchen to cook in. We have two apartments in Málaga made for groups: Cuarteles, which sleeps 6, and Victoria Duplex, which sleeps 5. Here's what they're like and which one suits you best.
Our 2 apartments

Victoria Duplex by Dossan
Large apartments in Málaga for families and groups
When there are five or six of you, an apartment has clear advantages over several hotel rooms: a living room to gather in, a kitchen for breakfasts and dinners at your own pace, and separate bedrooms so everyone gets some rest.
Our two largest apartments are in very different areas. Cuarteles sits right by the airport train stop, a short walk from the historic centre. Victoria Duplex is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, with Malagueta beach and Plaza de la Merced each about 15 minutes' walk away (approx.).
Cuarteles: a three-bedroom apartment sleeping 6
Cuarteles is our biggest apartment: three bedrooms, four beds, a full bathroom, a large living room and a kitchen with all the appliances you need. Every room has big windows, so it's full of light.
It's on the 4th floor of a quiet building with a lift, which is a real help when you're travelling with children, pushchairs or big suitcases. There's air conditioning, a Smart TV and Wi-Fi.
Its other big plus is the location: the Centro-Alameda train stop, with direct trains to the airport, is about a minute's walk away (approx.). Atarazanas Market is about 6 minutes and Calle Larios about 11 (approx.). Bear in mind there's one bathroom for up to six people.
Victoria Duplex: two floors for 5 in a quiet area
Victoria Duplex is a bright, modern duplex for up to 5, spread over two floors. One bedroom has a double bed and the other has two trundle beds, which work well for children, plus there's a sofa bed in the living room for a fifth guest.
There's a full bathroom upstairs and a separate toilet downstairs, which makes family mornings far easier. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there's air conditioning, a Smart TV and Wi-Fi.
It's in La Victoria, a quiet residential area north-east of the centre. Plaza de la Merced and Malagueta beach are each about 15 minutes' walk away, and the Alcazaba about 16 (approx.).
Cuarteles or Victoria Duplex: which to choose
Both work well for families and groups, but each has its strengths:
- If there are 6 of you, it's Cuarteles: it's the only one of our apartments that sleeps six.
- If you're flying in and would rather skip taxis, Cuarteles has the airport train practically on the doorstep.
- If you have young children and value two loos and a quiet neighbourhood, Victoria Duplex is the better fit.
- If you'd like to be nearer Malagueta beach, Victoria Duplex is about 15 minutes' walk away (approx.), compared with about 26 from Cuarteles (approx.).
- If someone in your group has reduced mobility, Cuarteles is on a floor served by a lift; get in touch and we'll give you the access details for each.
Málaga with kids: things to do near the apartments
Málaga is an easy city to visit with children: the centre is flat, there are plenty of pedestrian streets, and the beach, monuments and museums are all close together.
A few ideas that tend to go down well with all ages: climb up to the Alcazaba and, if legs allow, on to Gibralfaro Castle for the view over the port; stroll along Muelle Uno and the Paseo del Parque; spot the colourful cube of the Centre Pompidou; wander the stalls of Atarazanas Market; and finish the day on Malagueta beach. Check opening times and prices on each monument's or museum's website, as they can change.
If you fancy getting out of the centre, La Concepción Historical Botanical Garden, on the northern edge of the city, and the seafront at Pedregalejo, the old fishing quarter lined with beach bars, both make a good half-day out. Both are a bus or taxi ride away, and with children in tow it's worth packing water and sun cream, as the Málaga sun is strong for much of the year.
Tips for group trips to Málaga
If you're taking a taxi from the airport or station, remember a standard taxi usually takes up to four passengers. With five or six people and luggage, ask for a larger vehicle or split into two.
Make the most of the kitchen for breakfast at home and save eating out for when you fancy it. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00.
Our apartments are non-smoking, pets aren't allowed and parties or events aren't permitted: they're for resting and enjoying the city.
