Trinidad, with paid parking in the building

Apartment with parking in Málaga centre

Parking in central Málaga isn't easy: much of the Old Town is pedestrianised or has restricted access. So if you're driving, Trinidad is our answer: a newly renovated apartment with paid parking in the same building, a few minutes' walk from the historic centre.

The apartment

A Málaga city centre apartment with parking in the building

Trinidad is the only one of our apartments with parking. The car park is in the building itself and it's paid: it isn't included in the price of the apartment. The big plus is convenience: you park on arrival, take your bags straight up without circling for a space, and forget about the car until the day you leave.

Let us know when you book and we'll confirm the parking terms and availability for your dates.

Inside the Trinidad apartment

It's a newly renovated apartment for up to 4: two in the bedroom, which has a double bed, and two on the living-room sofa bed. It's ideal for couples on a road trip or small families who want to park once and walk everywhere.

There are large windows in every room, a kitchen with oven, microwave and coffee maker, a full bathroom, air conditioning, a Smart TV and 300 Mb Wi-Fi. There's also a small terrace, handy for drying clothes on a longer stay or after a day at the beach.

The Trinidad neighbourhood and what's within walking distance

The apartment is on Calle Trinidad, in the neighbourhood of the same name, west of the Guadalmedina river. It's one of Málaga's most traditional neighbourhoods, with a strong local community and deep Holy Week traditions.

Cross the river and you're in the historic centre. Here are some approximate walking times from the apartment:

  • Carmen Thyssen Museum: about 4 minutes (approx.).
  • Calle Larios and Atarazanas Market: about 9 minutes (approx.).
  • The Cathedral and the Picasso Museum: about 12 minutes (approx.).
  • Airport train stop (Centro-Alameda): about 12 minutes (approx.).

Driving into central Málaga: what you need to know

Because the apartment is west of the river, you don't need to drive through the Old Town to reach it, which is just as well, as many of its streets are pedestrianised or access-restricted.

Málaga has a low-emission zone (ZBE) whose restrictions depend on your vehicle's environmental label and where it's registered, and the rules are being tightened in stages. Before you travel, check the current rules on the city council's mobility website, especially if your car has no label or a B label.

If you're picking up a hire car at the airport, ask at the desk which environmental label it has, and keep the apartment's exact address (Calle Trinidad 8) handy for the satnav.

When an apartment with parking in Málaga makes sense

Parking makes all the difference if you're on an Andalusian road trip, travelling with plenty of kit (bikes, work equipment, shopping) or planning day trips around the province, such as Nerja, Ronda or the Caminito del Rey.

If you're only exploring the city, you may not need a car at all: the centre is easy to walk and there are direct trains and buses from the airport. In that case any of our apartments will do, and Trinidad is still a good choice for its location and terrace.

Day trips by car from central Málaga

With the car parked in the building, Trinidad makes a handy base for exploring the province on day trips and coming back to sleep in the centre. A few favourites:

  • Nerja and Frigiliana, east along the coast: the Balcón de Europa, the caves and one of the best-known white villages of the Axarquía.
  • Ronda, inland: the Puente Nuevo bridge over the gorge and its old town.
  • The Caminito del Rey, a walkway through the Gaitanes gorge. Tickets must be booked in advance.
  • Antequera, with its dolmens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the limestone landscape of El Torcal.

Tips for a stay in Málaga with a car

Park up on arrival and walk: the centre is flat and compact, and driving would only slow you down. If you're travelling in two cars, or the building's car park is full for your dates, there are several paid public car parks in the centre; our guide to parking in central Málaga covers them.

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. If you arrive earlier by car, bear in mind the apartment won't be ready until then, so a lunch stop on the way in can make the timing work nicely.
